The school exchange between Boise High School in Idaho, USA, and Gymnasium Große Schule in Wolfenbüttel, Germany, started in 2013 when two teachers, Martina Knauer of Große Schule and Amy Burkholder of Boise High School, initiated the GAPP partnership between their schools. In fall 2014, after several months of planning and preparation, 15 German students travelled to Boise and Chicago and were visited by 15 American students from Boise High in June 2015. The insight into the other culture and the experience they gained was so valuable and unforgettable that it not only created friendships which have existed ever since, but motivated even more students to embark on this shared adventure in 2016/17. This blog is about their experiences and aims at being continued by future exchange students of both schools.
